Tom Izzo will remain Michigan State's men's basketball coach, rejecting an offer to coach the Cavaliers at double his salary.
In a statement, Izzo said, "It's been an agonizing week as I tried to make a decision about a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity."
Part of that opportunity could have been coaching LeBron James, arguably the NBA's best player.
Izzo visited Cleveland on Thursday and has been mulling his options since.
Ultimately, home lured him to stay, and he hopes LeBron will do the same for the Cavaliers in deciding where he will play next season.
"Just as I decided to stay home, I hope a 6-8, 270-pound forward in Cleveland decides to stay home," Izzo said in the statement.
A press conference is called for 8:30 p.m.
